Ok, let me say I love this hat, and I knit a lot of them for the hospital near me.  I like you want all the babies to have cute hats.  Now let me show my ignorance and say that I cannot find where the pattern is.  Can someone help me please?  Thanks in advance.

Very cute hat!  After stumbling across this post a few weeks ago, I made one:

Obviously, I did not have a baby handy to model.  It's shipping out to the baby tomorrow.  More photos of my sarcastic cat on my blog.

Thanks for pointing me to this cute, cute pattern!

What a gorgeous baby!  I love those cheeks!   She looks darling in that hat.  I really like that yarn. I try to stock up when it's on sale!

Your hat is soooooo cute.  The color is yummy.  I always liked this pattern but wondered how well it stayed on the baby's head since they can be pretty wiggly even for a newborn.  Since you've seen in it action does it stay on okay or does it need ribbon ties?

In answer to madidolly, it stayed on my cat remarkably well, but I can't speak to babies.  I'm worried about it actually.  I think if it tends to pop off, the thing to do will be to block it a bit larger so that it's less elastic.  The pattern does include a chin strap, but that doesn't seem like the best idea for a little baby, safety-wise, so I left it off.

In any case, it's a clever little pattern, easy and fun to knit!  You could make a whole nursery full really quickly.

absolutely adorable. I wish my knitting skills were good enough to make this for my month old niece.

minyathol -- If you can knit (and purl) at all, you can make this hat.  It's little more than a rectangle--perfect first project!
