I picked up some black mohair the other day & did a quick test. I'll have to turn it inside out to make it fluffy enough, but otherwise it's looking good.

yatta! i finally did it... lol! i know i know.. took me awhile. i kept putting it off but here it is.. (replaced with a better looking picture)


thank you soo much for the pattern! i decided i'm going to give it to my bf for christmas because.. well, he's my neighbor and i thought what would be better than to give him a totoro (My Neighbor, Totoro!)  Cheesy oh and i'm still debating whether or not i should add a tail.. thanks again!

This is a weird coincidence.  I'd never heard of Totoro until I saw this thread yesterday.  I immediately looked to see if the film was available on a torrent because the knitted Totoro was just soooooo cute, but couldn't find it.  About 10 minutes ago I was channel hopping on my TV and the film is on TV in about five minutes time  Smiley.   My DVD recorder is now set.
