I didn't say well Wink  I started art school as a freshman back in April (I'm 32, better late than never, right?) and dreaded my drawing classes.  I've had exactly 3.  This is my final from the last class.  I know it's not perfect, but I'm so impressed because it actually looks like me and my dogs.

Crtiques are most welcome.  I'm always looking to improve and please don't worry about hurting my feelings.  I've been through pro-writing peer group crits before.  Talk about BRUTAL Wink  My skin, it is thick (much like my ass) Smiley

I did turn out really well, especially for just starting with drawing classes now. My favourite part is your foot. I know it may seem like a random part, but feet are hard, and you did quite the job shading it. Overall the shading is really well done, the only thing that i suggest working on is sketching out everything before drawing it (the circles and lines) I'm sure that your drawing instructors have probably made you sick of hearing this, but it really does help when you're trying to get proportions right, especially when is more than one person/animal in the picture. But yes, very well done, keep it up! Smiley

My only comment, don't draw what it IS draw what you SEE....
cryptic I know, but I think it's better understood when pondered....

My father in law keeps sketching my kids and husband, and send them to me (framed). They are not the best likenesses of my family at all. THey are what he thinks, not what is. That is what I believe is the next level for him. And I don't know who this person is in the sketch, but I would say you have a great line, and good shading and there is definately some great skill there. Keep going! Smiley
