As said in the title, this is a black and white photo of Alnwick Castle which is in the North East of England.
The photo has been cropped to focus the image.

Very nice -- makes me want to travel more!
I would suggest cropping it even further -- especially top and bottom.  Cut out the strip of lawn from the bottom so the bushes become your framing foreground, and take out a bit of that sky to make the castle stand out even more (If there was more shade variation to the sky -- ie if you could catch it in full thunderstorm mode -- then I'd say leave the sky in!).  I also wonder about bringing the right side of the frame in a bit, too... but 'm not sure about that.
I think B+W was a great choice for this pic.  I'd love to see it in a plain black frame with white matting!

Thanks so much!  Grin

First off, I just want to make clear I realllly like this photo...hehe!  The only reason I wanted to post edits is because I love editing beautiful images & seeing what I can create from them.  Smiley  I am also horribly jealous that you have access to a castle for photos!!

Here are two... I frame it in black because I find it easier to pull from the forum's background colors (I used the default layout, so it has some grey in it & it's a bit difficult to focus on the photo against the bkground...for me, at least).

I think it's a bit darker than I wanted it, but I'm on a laptop this morning.  Sad  Oh well, I still have fun!   Grin

Hey, good work!

I should definitely say the same to you!  I was just looking through "recent posts with pictures" and stumbled into all of yours... you're a busy photographer!  Oh, and you're doggie's cute.  Wink

the picture is great, but i recommend increasing the contrast, all of your grays are blending together, making the picture look soft
