I had this cool old suitcase with a broken zipper...and realized that it was perfect for a large shrine. I've had my old Ouija board lying around (haven't had any sleepovers in a while   Wink ), so decided to make a "fate" shrine - featuring some of the ways people put their fate in the hands of different fortune-telling devices.

I used Italian-made tarot card paper for the background:

I had a mini fortune-cookie box with an accordian style sheet of fortunes:

And I recently found the perfect finishing touch in a pair of old wooden dice I found at an antiques market:

One last thing I may add is a mini 8-ball. We'll see...Thanks for looking!

What a creative idea! I'd like to see the 8 ball on there, if you can work it in, but it's really great as is. Where will you be displaying it?

Thanks! If I do get my hands on an 8-ball, it'll prob be the mini keychain kind - then I could put it in the center at the top.

It's already hanging next to the suitcase shelves I made. I'll take a pic soon.

And thanks Mr. amaryllisroze! My boyfriend seemed to like it too - you know a craft is good when the boys notice!

That is really awesome ! The idea/concept is a great one, and I love the tarot card paper and fortune cookie box. Smiley

I think a mini magic 8-ball keychain would definitely add to the greatness !

i think that a mini 8 ball would rock.

maybe, if you know any kids [or their parents looking to get rid of bouncy balls] they might have some bouncy balls colored like an 8 ball--i know i have a few somewhere. Cheesy

My favorite part is that it's in the suitcase. It looks beautiful. And I agree that the mini 8-ball would look best.
