Brilliant! A ton of these lit on a shelf would make it look like one of those back-lit displays bars have.

I'm pissed!
I get my check on thursday.
I work long 12 hour shifts.
I call Michaels.
Ask if they carry bottle cutters and if so how much?
I wait on hold.
Cheerful girl comes back on the line and happily sings "$32."
Oh great.
Thanks so much.
What time do you close?
9PM?
Great, thank you...Goodbye.
I get there.
They are clueless.
"A bottle cutter?"
"Um, let me make a phone call"
"bLaH, bLaH, bLaH........ok, yeah.........um.....
We don't carry those anymore"

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH

That sucks.
I will make these.
I won't give up.

well that's lame that they'd even quote you if they don't carry them! Maybe they just don't realize they still have them. My Michael's carries about 3 at a time. They're on the VERY bottom shelf next to all the glass etching supplies and window paints. Somewhere close to the bead section. It's a purple and black box that says "As seen on TV". and yeah, I paid $32 for it! GAH! I still have to by sewing machine oil because it's not included in the kit but apparentely you need it to make it all work...how convenient!  Roll Eyes

wow that is such a great idea! We always save our bottles anyway for some reason..soo why not make them cute? Cheesy I don't think this would look at good with larger bottles though..would it? We have a lot of big bottles that are waiting to be finished!

Yeah, so my bottle cutter came in the mail Thursday night.
Crappy thing was I (haha my boyfriend, I mean) had to put it together. I figured it out ok, the cutter part. Except I can't get it to rotate into a complete circle. I push down and rotate but I must somehow move it a cm or something because it's going into a spiral not a finished line! I'm glad I'm only practicing on my man's Sam Adams bottles and not our favorites. Any advise?
