maybe you could modify the look a bit and use cotton yarns?  I think it would be lovely if you could find the colors!

ha ha -- a summer version and a winter version of the scarf would be interesting to see!!

No one else has posted... I feel like I need to get the ball rolling to see how you guys are doing on your Dr. Who Scarves...

Remember mine is for a three year old, so what I did is somewhat different than what the rest of the group is doing.  I've shrunk the pattern by only casting on forty and dividing all the recommended row counts by two (adding or subtracting one row to get it to be an even number).  Damn those stinking ends to weave in!!!

So far:

I'm hoping to finish it by Christmas... all night knitting, anyone?

Wikipedia has the answer! The scarf is from the fourth Doctor, most people's favorite.

Awwww! That is all I can say!

Oooh and to make it more relevant, I've started buying yarn, I'm getting quite a mixture of types but all DK.

Knitpicks Swish Superwash has all the right (or almost right) colors.  I just bought one ball of each to make myself some Dr. Who armwarmers --half of the pattern for one, the other half for the second one.  Is that grounds enough for me to join?  Wink

Edit: here are the colors I'm using.  It's only $3.29 a ball.
purple -- Bordeaux
tan -- Sand Dune
brown -- Truffle
yellow -- Sunshine
red -- Red Pepper
gray -- Coast Grey
green -- Jade
