This is simplicity 4047 in a vintage mohair I got off ebay. I am totally in love with and have been wearing it all week. Its a great fall jacket, and because its so loose its no problem wearing a (suit) jacket underneath, which is good, because I do love a retro jacket with jeans

There's no closure, but it hangs nicely so you don't even need one. The cuffs have bias facing so you get the plaid on the diagonal when you turn them back, and there's a really neat cape-y drape to the back. I love capes, but they don't work well when you like to carry your purse over your shoulder. There's a few more views on my blog.

I still have ~1.5 yards of this fabric left (its 60" wide). I can't decide between making a skirt, possible with a bias trim at the bottom, or making a suit jacket style jacket (I have a retro pattern I could do in a yard and a half)! Help me decide!

Really cute!

As far as the left overs, I would do another suit jacket. The pattern might be too big for a skirt (ie. gigantic rear syndrome) Shocked Not pretty! Plus I think it would be fun to have an indoor jacket that matched an over jacket. It seems very glamorous for some reason. Either way I'm sure you'll put the extra to good use.

Personal swap friendly, just ask!
