pamelabee: Yes, T.1 - T.4 are different sizes (T is for taille, I just forgot to change the symbol). By the way, if anybody happens to know what sizes they correspond to, let me know. I googled like mad but was able to find no explanation for such size system.

Something like S, M, L, XL?
Going by the cast on stitches and the gauge, the measurements would be:

1 = 36" around
2 = 39"
3 = 42"
4 = 46"

BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Can you tell us a little about the size of the balls of yarn you used?  How many grams were they, and how long were the skeins?

I'm considering making this sweater, and am trying to figure out how much yarn to buy.

You've inspired me.  I saw this pattern quite a while ago and also translated it.  Unfortunately I am a slow, easily distracted knitter so I often start things, and never finish them!  I'm so glad you provided the translated version because now I can compare yours to mine!  I will make this sweater.  I will!

I'm late to the party, but...WOW. So classic and elegant. I think I'm going to start shopping around for yarn for this.

If anyone's interested, the suggested yarn, Bergere de France Magic, is here. There are 80 meters per ball, or approx. 87 yards, which means the yarn requirements are as follows:

Sz 1-36" (2-39", 3-42", 4-46") =  870 (957, 1044, 1131)yds.

(size measurements courtesy of soozeq) Does that seem about right, wabbit?

P.S: your haircut is really awesome! Smiley

I'm thrilled to see that pamelabee has actually started a KAL ! Can't wait for the results.

But now the bad news. Having read the questions about yarn amount, I remembered that I translated the pattern directly and completely forgot to add: for the turtleneck version, you need ONE MORE SKEIN than the pattern suggests. Duh. Now it doesn't seem so obvious anymore, does it ? I updated the pattern translation now (and also added some details to the turtleneck part), but I'm so sorry if anybody has ordered the yarn already Embarrassed

But I did use the original yarn and otherwise, knitticle's math should be correct. Oh, and my hair is just .. eh .. it has its own ways Wink
