Last year my boyfriend and I dressed up as Leela and Fry from Futurama. I knit an armband and made a giant eye out of a surgical mask, and painted it with glow-in-the-dark nail polish, and knit the armband, and BF wore the red jacket and carried a can of Slurm. I'll pos pics of those if I find them. BUT, I did want to share the matching pumpkin that I carved, to go with our Futurama themed halloween.

I just printed out some images I liked, transferred them onto the pumpkin with pin-pricks through the paper (which i taped onto the pumpkin), then used a knife, spoon, and the can-opener thingie on a swiss army knife to carve it out.

Okay, well it seems like everyone was too drunk to take good pictures that night.  Undecided And I of course did not have the presence of mind to take good pictures of the costumes before we went out. So here's the best one I could find:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v628/fairysari/random/halloween.jpg

For the eyeball I took like a dust mask or a surgical mask, the kinda that is super cheap and just basically made out of white paper. I trimmed it down so that it was closer to the shape of an eye, painted it glow-in-the-dark (but it still looked white) and painted a big cartoon pupil in the middle. The mask has a piece of elastic that goes around your head, so it was super easy.

Be warned though, very few people *got* the costume. I'd suggest getting some sort of purple hair piece, since just spraying purple didn't work so well (but I have dark hair). Most people just thought I was a cyclops. But I even knit a freakin' armband! I was disappointed a little bit, I guess I thought more people liked Futurama.

Oh and you can see the Slurm in that pic. It was one of those foam beer cozies that I decorated to look like a can of Slurm, so he could fit it over whatever he was actually drinking, and still be drinking Slurm.

I`m in love with that pumpkin. Futurama is one of my favorite shows and the pumpkin really looks like the characters!
