Hello,

I'm new to here and to embroidery and I was wondering if anyone has a picture of the cowgirl (from the Country Cool set) they've completed.  The one post on here that mentioned it the pictures didn't work.

The reason I ask is that I'm not sure if I'm ready for it...it has the more detail than the ones I've tried before this and I'm not sure what stitches will work best.

Thanks,
rec'

Please forgive me, because this is on a dishtowel that I use.  So it's a little wrinkled and err.. stained here and there.  But here are my suggestions:  Get a fabric that has a tighter weave than most flour sack towels.  Use only two strands.  Do face/hands/etc in black (or very dark skin-tone) backstitch - the pale peach just didn't work out at all.

For what it's worth, what I did was to put just about every design in that pack on my dishtowel and work my way around doing the stars and snakes first, to get my "embroidery muscles" back, and to practice different stitches - then I did the cowgirl last.

bubbledragon, i think yours looks wonderful! hard to tell from here about the pale peach, by the way, but the other colors are great.

and rectangle, Hi -- or should i say, Howdy, in the cowgirl spirit? i bet your stitches are up to snuff. what i like best about Sublime Stitching is that it's fun, not fussy. some people here can do amazing things straightaway and others (ahem, i mean ME; it's no accident i haven't learned to upload pictures) just have fun with the patterns. you get better as you go along, no matter what, and those patterns really, truly are reuseable if you end up detesting what you've done or getting a brainstorm midway through of what you wish you'd done instead.

nice to meet you!

Ooh, I have an awesome one on a tote-bag stitched by Doula-Do -- it's on a whole back-log of things I need to post photos of, so I'll try to get them up this weekend!  She did a supergreat job.

Cool! Thanks for the picture princesakati!  Metallic thread too!  I like how their expression are different... seems like that could totally change the target audience if you know what I mean!  Hot Smiley
