If anyone wants to come down from Milwaukee the Amtrak is about $20 one way but the Megabus is only  $1  or $3 if you book now! Holy cow that's friggin cheap! If anyone else is going to take the megabus let me know via pm and we can go together.  I wouldn't even mind driving ya to the station. I was thinking of driving but if I can take a bus for that cheap I'd much rather be able to craft along the way. Plus if we go together chances are you're (and I'm) not some stinky old pervert like the ones I always end up having to sit next to. Oh - and at least we'd have craftster for conversation if we were in a chatty mood.

Also - the Chase cafe is right off the red line, huge and very craftster. But I heard it might have closed. It's too bad because it's right on the lake and there is some sign warning about cars getting washed off this huge bluff. Lake Michigan is huge!

One of the field houses in one of the parks would also be cool.

For those who enjoy a drink when trying to socialize with semi-strangers that they regard as demi-gods without extreme nervousness - Chicago has some nifty alcohol laws so you can byob in many places like cafe's and restaurants. That could get us around the laws regarding minors if anyone was interested in drinking that early. I've never tried it but I know Chi-town has a BYOB (bring your own beer) Law.

Only certain restarauts allow BYOB- sometimes there is a "corkage fee", but most of the places I have been to don't have this. Here is a list of all of Chicago's BYOB restaurants:

ooooh!  My birthday's on the 15th....perhaps I can convince my hubby to buy us plane tickets to chicago.... Grin

I'd love to meet you all!

sweet4ever, I must've missed you at Craftin' Outlaws!  I was outside right at the back...I left early though, cos I was right underneath the crack of two tents, and after enough rain had collected on the sides of the roofs, they decided to splash down give my wares a good wash...so everything is now soaking wet, trying to get dry in the sun...haha!  I had fun though!

I can tell you, Fall is composed of

1 part dead fish smell
1 part wet leaves
1 part arctic chilled air (not winter chilled variety)
2 parts crunchy walking
a pinch very cold rain
some apples you picked yourself
a few very still moments
a good deal of inner reflection

I guess it would imagine where we have it.  But if it's in a book loft or something, I don't see why it wouldn't be.  Smiley
