I pm'd you today!  A day away from the kids and the hubby that involves more than just me walking the grocery store alone?  I'm in!

Now, I must convince the overprotective husband.  It is kind of sweet that he's worried cause he won't be there to protect me in the big, bad city.  I'll have him convinced that it's ok by this time next week Wink

Wow! to hang with people who won't look at me funny when I say "on craftster, the other day..."  Smiley

Can't wait!

I can tell you, Fall is composed of

1 part dead fish smell
1 part wet leaves
1 part arctic chilled air (not winter chilled variety)
2 parts crunchy walking
a pinch very cold rain
some apples you picked yourself
a few very still moments
a good deal of inner reflection

Bubba*tink I do that all the time.  Here's my general conversation.

person: Where'd you get that cool xxx?
me: Oh, someone made it for me.
person: Oh yea? who?
me: uhm... some girl
person: uh. You don't know her?
me: ..... no... not really

So, funny!  Happens all the time!  At least my fiance and family FINALLY understand.  Here were MANY of my conversations until they finally understood.

"Wow!  Where'd you get that from?"
"Craftster."
"Crapper?  What's that?"
"No, no.  CraftSTER."
"Crafter?"
"NO! CRAFTSTER.  C-R-A-F-T-S-T-E-R.  Here, let me just show you. *pulls person over to the computer*  See, it's a craft website.  I'm a moderator there."
"Ohh.  So, monitors send you stuff like this??"
"No, no.  Moderators, not monitors.  And they don't send me stuff unless they are in the same swap as me."
"What's a swap??"
*insert LONG and HEAVY internal sigh right about this time*

hahahaaa!!!!!!!!  Yep, that's exactly what I go through!  Fortunately, most of the people I talk to have already heard the whole schpiel, so all I have to say is "craftster" and they nod and say, "ahhhh..."

I get that too. I can't help but talk about craftster all the time. Today my ex asked me (after I've been talking about it for months to him)

"I got an underwear purse in the Big Lebowski swap"
"Where do you find these people?"
"Craftster, I've told you this a million times" (we talk for hours everyday)
"I don't get it"
"You helped me think up phrases for the swap!"
"I still don't get it"
"It's a message board for crafts and some people organize craft swaps. You know that gallery thing we were just talking about? It's a Craftster Swap too."
"I still don't get it, how do you know these people?"
"GRRRR. Sigh. OK - You know I said I was coming to town on Oct. 15 and you asked if we could meet up?"
"Yeah, can we do it in a parking lot somewhere while you're here?"
"Romantic. Well, my point was that I'm going to be meeting some of the people from craftster there. Remember I asked you if the Chase cafe was still open? And when you said that would be an awesome place to meet up with craftsters?"
"Yeah"

Then I proceeded to bang my head over the fact that he makes $80,000 a year as a self-taught sys admin but is too dense to wrap his head around craftster... Though he may have been trying to purposely get on my nerves. That's his favorite thing to do. He giggles like a 2 year old if he can manage to frustrate me.
He thinks it's cute, and considers it a challenge.

As far as the meeting spot, right now we are set on DEPART-ment. Since we are going for leisure instead of business, we wont be setting up a booth or a table. All of us mods will be wearing colorful DIY craftster shirts (I'll post pics when they are finished) for reference. If anyone knows of a booth or location to meet up at a certain time, that would be awesome. Just post here and we can duke it out. Smiley
