Hey Fellow Craftsers in the Chi-town area,

I just moved back to the Chi after 7 years in Los Angeles and need your help. Where can I go to get discount/bulk/wholesale craft supplies? I have an immediate need for those plastic rhinestones you can get at Michael's but I need them in bulk (for an order of hand-made invitations) and short on time -- like, I need to go get some 2morrow (yikes). I'm actually in the southern suburbs so if you know any places out near Country Club Hills/Chicago Heights area that would be purrfect but I'm not gonna get picky. Need to re-establish my network of bargain spots for crafts and fabrics.

Thanks for any suggestions!

No worries, thanks anyway. I ended up finding an online source with Chicago sources for craft & fabric supplies. The list is pretty extensive but I haven't checked any of the places yet. I will when the next need arises though. Curious to check out the sari shops they have listed:)

Hi khill!

Yeah, I don't look at this board often...but American Science and Surplus is a great place to go for misc. craft supplies. That place is so cool...my head starts spinning every time I go in there. It's at Milwaukee and Foster on the NW side of the city - which is a haul for you, but totally worth it. Make a day of it and go to Vogue Fabrics in Evanston too, it's not that much further. (I agree with pretty much everything that link you posted had to say.)

Happy shopping!!
