Hey there, Chi town!

As a few of you have noticed, some of the Craftster mods have added a little somethin' to their signatures recently. Over the past couple of months we've been planning a Mod Meetup in Chicago, and it's finally coming down to the wire!

A couple different members have asked if it would be possible if they could meet up with us at some point, as well, and we thought it was an awesome idea! Therefore, we'd like to let you all know when we're available.

WHAT:

Craftster mod meetup! Come meet the beautiful, talented ladies who help keep this place running!

WHO:

Mods in attendance:

(screen name, home state, area of Craftster)

jMi - Virginia - Craftster itself, bags and purses, swap moderator
kategirl - Michigan - global moderator
krazigal72 - Connecticut - jewelry and trinkets, global moderator
retroeva - Tennessee - home and garden, miscellaneous moderator
sweets4ever - Ohio - occasions and holidays, global moderator
taloola - Oregon - swap moderator
vanillaxlight - Michigan - crochet, recipes, bath and beauty moderator

Our very own Leah may make her presence known, so don't you dare miss this!

WHEN:

October 15th, 1 pm - 3 pm

WHERE:

This is where you come in! None of us are from the area, so we have no idea where to go. A restaurant seems like a HUGE hassle due to the amount of people we will most likely have show up. A park might be good, but it'll be mid October. Depart-ment will be open for business that same weekend, so we figure it might be an awesome idea to meet up there!

If you have any ideas as to where to meet up, PLEASE chime in on this thread!

If you plan on meeting up with us all during this time, PM me to let me know so I have a general idea about many people will be attending. After everything is settled and we have a definite place to meet up, I'll PM everyone who contacted me to give them the final plan.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT ANY ASPECT OF THIS, FEEL FREE TO PM ME OR POST THEM HERE. I'LL ANSWER THEM THE BEST I CAN.

REMEMBER! THIS IS THE ONLY TIME FRAME WE WILL BE AVAILABLE TO MEET UP WITH Y'ALL! DON'T MISS IT!

(and if any of you own a craft store you want us to meet up in, my goodness, PLEASE feel free to let me know!)

Sweet! I'm down Smiley  (I'll be selling at Depart-ment, too!)

Could you contact Depart-ment and see if there is any space in Open End? I don't know if that's feasible but may be worth a shot?

That area isn't really conducive for gatherings since from what I remember it's fairly industrial.  If there's no space at Open end we'd have to go to a different neighborhood, probably..

Hrmm... I'll try to come up with some ideas!

Awwww! I guess it figures that you all come around Chicago after I've moved down to Champaign for college. Sad

Thanks! We're a bit unfamiliar with Chicago (well most of us!) so any help is appreciated! We were a bit worried about saying everyone could meet us somewhere and then having TOOOO many people and getting in trouble lol

Sorry almostascone- maybe you can come for a visit? hehe

I don't think a casual eatery would be bad.  Leah met with ppl out west and I don't think they got in trouble - why can't I find that thread??  They just all met for food/drinks/something like that... - help me find it!  Smiley

People should feel free to suggest anything! Restaurants would be good, assuming we don't have a whole lot of people who come. As long as most of the people who are coming PM me so I have a good idea about how many will be there, a restaurant might not be half bad (but if we have 25 people, it could be a problem!)
