Sooo...alwaysinmyroom, being the angel that she is Kiss ,sent me a DIY kit so that I could learn basic Kanzashi flowers.  Here are my first three, I have several more but haven't got pics yet.

I gave them to my mommy, plus the beaded dragonfly and the jewelry box. She actually wears them, so I'm all impressed.  Grin

I love the buttons you used!! There are so many possibilities for these!!  What a lovely gift for anyone...

Did you post your dragonfly and box in another thread?  I would be interested in knowing how you made the dragonfly!!  It looks like something all those dragonfly lovers (like me!) would like to know how to do!!

Glad that you have a new craft to enjoy--it was a pleasure, sweetie!!

No, I didn't post them, but I can tell you it was really simple!  I just used about 2 feet of craft wire (I'm not sure of the gauge, the labels came off - it's small enough to fit through a seed bead easily, but big enough that I couldn't use some of the beads), threaded all the beads on it (I used old seed beads - plastic, but kind of cool looking anyway, they're like a metallic blackish), and then folded it in half, in half again, and twisted it.  Then I took about 2 more feet of wire, threaded the beads on, and folded it in half around the body - wound it around once to keep it in place, and shaped the wings.  Then I just twisted the ends (without beads) and tucked the ends into the body.  Honestly, I probably should have used some glue or something.  But he stays together, living in one of her plants.  lol

I hope that made sense, because it was a lot harder explaining it than it was doing it!  lol
