Hey all,
I am yet another American craftster living abroad. I recently moved to Friedrichshafen and am having a hard time finding good places for craft shopping. The area does have a good (although pricey) yarn store and fabric store, but I need lots of more basic supplies. Polymer clays or fimo, fabric paints, beads and findings, etc. I guess what I need is a good all purpose craft place. Any ideas where I can find somethiing nearby? Any ideas would be welcome.
I'm also interested in taking up knitting, and I'd love to take a class. Any ideas where I could find a class in English? My German skills are still very rudimentary!
Thanks!
Joanna

Hi Joanna,

by accident I saw an ad for a fair in Friedrichshafen that might interest you. Here's the link: http://www.messe-friedrichshafen.de/html/de/index.php?/html/en/programme/programme/2005/2005.php?lid=3861
It is supposed to deal with everything creative. I havent been to this fair myself so I dont know if it's any good.

I'm not from the area of Friedrichshafen so I cant give you any other tips. Sorry.

Hope this helps.

Anne

Sorry, wrong link. It was information for last years fair.

Here's the right one:

This one is in german. But there is one in English too. I'm just having problems to get the right link. Maybe you find it yourself.

i will ask my mum because i didn't live at home for awhile.  Grin
i think she knows some more fabric-stores because she was really into patchworking a while ago, now she's doing papercrafts. BUT she buys all her stuff at a store in north-germany, because the owner of the store is her best friend  Smiley

EDIT:
i remember now:
in FN in the pedestrian area - do you know where to find the h&m? from there you walk towards the lake then you will find on the left hand side a small craft store which is called steckenpferd. (Wilhelmstr.15)
