I live in so. cal and these bags are very popular for some reason. I've seen them for up to $60 in boutiques. So I made one myself, which was very easy and it didn't take long at all. Of course I had to embellish a little, so I hand stitched some shell buttons with embroidery thread into a cute pattern (this took the longest.. like 3 hours!) but it was well worth it.
I know it's hard to tell from the pictures, but the straps are about 45 inches long, so I wear it "messenger style" and it hangs at about my butt.
If I do another one, I'd probably add a pocket on the inside.

It's really pretty, you did great work stiching on all those buttons, it looks perfect!
Do you need a cute purse to go with that outfit?

So cute!  The fabric is beautiful and the buttons are just great.

I'm interested in personal swaps -- I love bracelets & necklaces and I don't know how to make them.

I see people wearing bags like this all the time around here, especially the college students.  It's not really my style (I'm more of a tailored-purse kinda-gal) but of all the ones I've ever seen, I like yours the best!  What patience you have to sew all those shell buttons on!  Well worth it, because they look fantastic!

It' so pretty!  Very glam.  Those sequins can be real tedious though, I agree that needs a whole lot of patience.   Smiley
