I'm really liking everyone's FOs.  yarnhag, you're really plowin through em!  I especially like your panta...where did you find the pattern for it?

Here's my current list:

BF's sweater
U-neck sweater from VK F '06
Michael Kors Aran Tee - about 60% done...needs sleeves and seaming.
BF's mittens - 80% done
Socks - barely even started
Afghan - still just a twinkle in my eye.

Not to mention another two sweaters' worth of yarn that I haven't decided what to make with yet... Undecided

GodDAMN I hate hand sewing. If I'd been able to machine sew this sucker it would have been done months ago. Oh, and since the yarn for my little sister's cardigan (knitty's Reid) arrived last night and I've been good about finishing stuff I decided I get to cast on for it today.

How'd you do the lining?

Thanks! I.....hm. I made a rough outline of the finished bag on a piece of butcher paper, neatened it up into a decent pattern piece, cut out two of those and a really long strip of fabric, improvised some square patch pockets with serged edges, sewed all the lining pieces together to make a rough facsimile of the bag's shape, and then painstakingly pinned and whipstitched the top edge of the lining to the top edge of the bag.

Basically the same way you'd line any other purse but with less precision and more cursing.

I really like the purse too.  I heart purple.

I made very little progress on the Michael Kors sweater...I'm making long sleeves so it's going to take forever.  I got through about 10 rows last night and couldn't handle it anymore after that.  I still have 100 rows left to go before the cap shaping.  I plan to work on it a little more tonight while watching ANTM & Project Runway, but I have a headache today so the complicated stitch pattern probably won't do me any favors.    Sad

I'm about to take off on a business trip across the country--which of course means lots of time on trains and planes potentially knitting!

But I have to confess, I'm going to start something new instead of finishing something off.  The in-progress projects are just too big to conveniently pack!  And needless to say, seaming up, adding linings, all that stuff, is not easily done on the road.

So...I'm falling behind you all.  But I may have something to show for my trip anyway!

- irregular rib raglan from Loop-D-Loop (body and one sleeve done. I got the last skein for this today.)
- zip-apart colourblock pullover from Loop-D-Loop (finish sewing on zippers)
- ripple weave socks from VK Fall 2006 (7" of one leg done)
- lemony snicket socks from magknits (one done)
- colchique sweater (body done, one sleeve half done)
- jaywalker socks (ran out of yarn 8 rows from the end of the second one. I now have yarn that could be used to finish them)
- baudelaire socks (one done, one being saved for when I'm sick of cuff-down socks)
- knitty's Reid (8" done but I'm having some sizing issues. I suspect I'll end up starting over with fewer stitches.)
-embroidered over-the-knee stockings from VK Fall 2006 (one toe done. No rush on these.)

All the yarn I ordered has finally arrived, but I'm limiting myself to swatching for my stuff until I'm done with at least Reid and most likely the two Loop-d-Loop sweaters as well.

Hey, I think my WIP list actually shrank a little bit!  Grin
