By default, when someone sends you a Personal Message (aka Private Message aka PM) on Craftster, you also get an email notifying you that you got Personal Messages.

If you want the actual Personal Message itself to be included in this email, you now need to specify this like so:

1. click the "PROFILE" button

2. click "Personal Message Options"

3. set "Include the Personal Message in the email?" to yes or no

Awesome!!  Thanks, Leah!  Smiley

I also wanted to let some members know about the feature that will alert you via a pop-up when you recieve messages.

I mentioned it on another thread & a few people didn't know it existed.  Smiley

1. click the "PROFILE" button

2. click "Personal Message Options"

3. checkmark "Show a popup when you receive new messages?"

Regardless of whether you have this set or not, you will still get a "running tally" number next to My Messages on your toolbar above.  This will actually set it to alert you when there is a new message, with a pop-up window that says something like... "You have received a new PM, would you like to open it in a new window now?"

I really like it because I never keep an eye on my toolbar at the top.  To each their own, just wanted to throw the option out there!  Smiley

I like having the option to not have the body delivered in my email. However, now I get this weird line of text that says: "pm_email_include_msg=" at the end of all my pm notification emails. It's not the end of the world, and I don't mind, but I thought I'd bring your attention to it in case it's something that shouldn't be happening.

Thanks for the tips!  I do like the pop-ups AND the message emailed to me, so I don't have to double-back for it!

Yeah, I get that too. I put my messages to be included in my e-mails... but half of them get the weird message thingy, and half do give the actual message...

Sorry I've been gone so long. Am trying to get back on the boards. Body's thrown me for a few loops these past months and am still learning to adjust. Thanks for your patience.
