I've never done one of these before, so I thought I might as well give it a try. I just used a plain white tee (fotl) and the fonts "Famous Logos" "The Kids" and I think one called "Eight Track" but I'm not sure because I can't find it. lol.

Probably as many people as hissed at me when I wore my Free Martha shirt or told me I should always double down on eleven when I wore my swingers shirt. I heart your stencil. Where did you get it? I want people singing Ice Ice Baby to me! Wink

It's not a stencil. I took an image from Google, and in Paint Shop Pro (www.jasc.com) I adjusted the threshold to make it LOOK like a stencil. If you need more detailed instructions, or just want the same picture I used, I'll be happy to help.

Yea can you link me to the image so I can stencil that. All my transfers look like ass. My stencils don't look much better, but still slightly. You rock. Thanks for helping this me look like a slightly cooler dork.

what do you use to transfer them to your shirts? do you buy the stuff you can get from any local store? my dad used some kind of transfer paper once...i think it was by HP or something anywho - after about a couple of washes the transfer started to fade really bad and after the first wash the image became all cracked and what not. hmm ...

I use Avery Ink Jet T-Shirt Transfer paper. You can get them at Staples...or any office supply/craft store. I'm pretty sure. Mine were given to me.

It's a really hot shirt, I would so wear it.

Is the transfer still staying nicely? It isn't cracking or peeling or anything?

^^ when you print off the image, it can have color in it. I just didn't have any color ink, so I didn't use color.

And yes, the it stayed... but when I printed it, It had all these ugly lines in it because I was running out of ink, so I went over it with a magic marker. Yeah, bad idea. Vanilla Ice is now a blue slushie.

just to let you know, the dingbat 'the kids' is from the fontalicious website. this is what it says in their info section.

Quote
Fonts located in the 'Dingbats' section may not be used for t-shirt, logo or product design without acquiring a specific license. Contact us for more details.

so while i doubt they'd care that you used it for one personal tee shirt, you can't make heaps of them for friends or use one of the dingbats as a logo with an agreement that would require payment.

i know that they ( i believe it's a he, actually) work really hard on those fonts and it's so rad that they're up for free downloading.

just something to keep in mind.

I got the font from dafont.com, so I didn't know about that. This is the only teeshirt I've made with that font, and I only used it because I saw the same font used on someone ELSE'S shirt. But anywho, thanks for telling me... wouldn't want to upset a good font creator. Cheesy

Ok, first you've got to get the picture you want... I suggest using one that's really big, that way people won't have to squint at your shirt. Cheesy

then go to colors>> adjust>> threshold. Just play around with it untill you're happy with how it looks.
