1. wash 2-3 times daily with fragrance-free dial soap for 3-7 days.  air dry, do not rub with towel.
2. moisturize with dye-free, fragrance-free moisturizer (most tattooists recommend lubriderm) until healed.

don't scratch, scrub, expose to sun, soak in water or wear binding clothes!

What is dial soap? Just regular fragrance free soap?

How many times should I moisturise? Would vaseline be okay instead of moisturiser or not?

i've heard vaseline is bad. you should just get plain moisturizer.

hmmm.... ive heard that vaseline doesnt let the skin breathe enough, vitamin e or aloe vera are meant to be very good for the skin. you have robably heard of tis allready, bmezine.com is good, and so is http://www.bodymod.org which also has a forum

Yeah, Dial is just a basic antibacterial liquid soap. As seen here. As basic as it gets. Funny how things we take for granted can be unknown to others

So just put some of that antibacterial soap on and wash off with warm water, letting it air dry?

How often would you recommend moisturising? This one site said as soon as the previous moisturisation stuff soaks in and the skin is dry again, put more on..? 

I shouldnt get so excited and leave the shop so early next time

two or three times a day is enough to moisturize.

basically, you want to do as little as possible to the tattoo to let it heal.  so, after the first three or so days, moisturize 2-3 times a day for the next two or so weeks.

i'd also recommend drinking LOTS of water.  it's really good for the skin and will help the healing process tremendously.

most of the tattooist i know do as little as possible to theirs, i.e. no special creams/ointments/etc.  just keep it clean and moisturized.

So if I wash it with antibacterial soap, let it air dry then moisturise it when I wake up, moisturise it around dinner time and wash it with antibacterial soap, letting it air dry then moisturising it before I go to bed. Will that be okay?

yeah, that's it.  you know, if you're really uncertain you can always just call your tattoo artist for advice.  ultimately they'll know what's best because they have the most experience with their own ink and work.  but what i've told you is almost universal basic tattoo care.  good luck!
