tinafish, i love your tat!  I've wanted a paper crane for so long, and you just renewed my love for them!  I couldn't find any other pics online of people with actual paper crane tatoo's, its awsome to finally see it translated as a real tat!

faux, thanks!  Smiley i had to search for a long long long time and still could not find one that i liked. previous crane tattoos i've seen are too angled and geometric. i had mine designed so it was more organic. my artist was just awesome. i gave him a few pictures i had..the idea of what i wanted...and poof!! he came up with this. he's amazing. Kiss Kiss Kiss

What about adding stuff around the lizard instead of covering it? It's a pretty...uh...femin ine lizard! (?) Maybe some ferns and flowers around it? I am having a tattoo worked on in June that has a heavy black outline, and I have the impression they can't do much with that except add to it (or the classic black panther cover up). I'd definitely talk to an artist to see what's possible.

You can cover over black, you just have to have an artist who knows what they're doing.

the best thing is for her to go so the artist can actually see what the tattoo looks like in person. black can be covered. like jinn said, you just need to have an artist that knows what they are doing.

You know, you can still see the black outlines in that cover up if you know where to look. With the thicker lines like the lizard has, I'm not sure that's possible.
