Oh my, I love that one. Definatly closer to what I'm planning to do.
Looks like the artist did a really good job on it too.

Hi, all -

I've been lurking on this thread (and posting the occassional "That's so cool!" comment) for a while. I was holding off posting a picture of my first tat because I plan on getting a new one soon and I thought I'd just post them together, but then I was also wanting to post a request for a studio rec, so I thought I'd go ahead and post a picture while I was at it:

Very basic and not super original, but it's mine Wink. It's in the small of my back (if you didn't already get that from the waistband of my jeans appearing in the bottom of the photo Wink ), and it's a little over 5 1/2 years old. I'm still really pleased with it, though the color on the moon could stand to be touched up.

Which is a nice segue to my request: can anyone give me a rec for a studio in Dallas? The shop where I got my first tattoo has closed, so I need a new place. I've heard good things about Cat Tattoo in Addison, which is conveniently located about ten minutes from my house, but I thought I'd see if there were some other places I should check out first. As a side note, I want my next piece to be on my hip, and I would kind of like a female artist to do it, if I can find one - just a comfort level thing.

I've really enjoyed looking at everyone's beautiful work here and look forward to seeing some more Wink.

Hi Allison,

I can vouch for Obscurities being super clean and nice, but I haven't gotten a tattoo there, just 2 piercings. (and when i didin't like the placement of one, they let me come back and get it redone)

I went to Cat Tattoo to ask about getting my constellation done, and the guy there (his name was Elmo) had filthy nails and a couple of what seemed to be underage girls were there about the get work done.

i hear good things about holdfast tattoo on greenville and strange but true tattoo in addison

Hope this helps, and let me know who you end up going to!
