without months in advance i dunno if it will do much good, but i've been most impressed with the books at Black Heart Tattoo, blackhearttattoosf.com - they're at valencia & duboce.  it's where i plan to get my next one.  I think their work looks better than Mom's on haight, but have never been to the one mentioned in North Beach.

Ive heard blackheart is suppose to be good too. I dont venture out of Santa Cruz often, so I stick with FU Tattoo.

Temple Tattoo in oakland also has a really good rep - i've never been over there but have seen & heard good things about them.  you may be able to get in sooner than at blackheart, as my understanding is that they're a bigger operation.  Yo might hear good things about Braindrops, and a lot of people i know like their work. I think their attitude could use a little work.

Here's my latest tattoo--a White Tara I got done this past weekend at the Philadelphia tattoo convention.

I FINALLY GOT MY TATTOO! And because I'm a photo junkie, you get to see a bunch of pictures!

Here's Beau (the artist) hard at work:

And a close-up:

I held my friends hand. At one point, her thumb was purple!

You can also see her wrist tattoo in this picture. The stars go all the way around in various sizes and colors.

This is the end product. The flash on my camera makes it look sort of washed-out, but the color is pretty amazing, really.

And the underside:

My wrist is massively swollen in those pics (this all took place YESTERDAY) and today it is bruised and I can't really move it. Beau was surprised at how quicky my wrist swelled and the extent to which it became swollen.

I'm very pleased with it!! Although it hurt so bad. Burning and stinging. It felt like I was slitting my wrist over and over with a dull blade. And it never did go numb, at all. But then, it only took half an hour to do... and cost $75!

What do you think?

P.S. Need Speedball paint? I have a ton I want to get rid of! P.M. me!

I just wanted to say that all of you have such amazing ink.. After I have my baby, I'm going to go get my first tattoo..

I want a pin up style nurse.. but I'm having a hard time finding pictures that are even reasonably similar to what I want.

Yo might hear good things about Braindrops, and a lot of people i know like their work. I think their attitude could use a little work.

Lots of talent there, but reliable, heavily tattooed sources tell me there's waaaaaayyyy too much attitude.  I could never be tattooed by someone I couldn't feel comfortable talking with.

...so believe when I say Im no better than you, except when I craft so I guess it aint true.
