Aww, your first!!

Good call on getting it up a bit higher.  The sole of your foot sheds more than where you put it and hopefully it'll last ya longer.

Yep I was a virgin, inkwise Smiley And it wasn't my call; I wanted to be able to hide it with shoes but I figured he knew what he was talking about and left it there

I have a foot tattoo, too (yep, it hurt a lot!). Mine's pretty big, most of the top of my foot and onto my ankle. I've never been unabale to hide it if I really want to, although I rarely worry about it (except around my grandma, I am 40 and I am still scared of her! Roll Eyes )

Well I have three & 1/2 tattoos ( the 1/2 being so faded its primed for a cover up), But I was posting this for out ART Nouveau swap, It's my charles rennie Mackintosh tattoo. He drew it for a ticket for a retrospective of his that was happening in Glasgow.  I originally wanted it on my arm , but had to move it in order to keep it to its' natural dimensions & glory.

I got my first tattoo ever yesterday on my right heel. I was surprised at how much it hurt, but it was bareable.

I hope the little bumps on the green and blue stars go away after it heels heals Smiley The tattoo guy was really nice but I wasn't aware he did tatts. I thought he was only the shop manager/piercer but I guess not.
I drew it up on photoshop. It was a little higher than I wanted but he said something about it not looking good or fading easier or something if I had it down further. Oh well. The tail of the shooting star actually has three lines but it looks like two in the picture. Each star is for a member of my family (their birthstone) and the shooting star is for my dad who passed away almost a year ago.

OOoo very pretty! Yeah, when you have tattoo's on heels, feet, or hands; they tend to fade a lot faster.

I have one on my ankle and it hurt when we went over the bone, but that was it lol I also have the letter 'm' on my ring finger(they were cheaper than rings for the both of us lol my hubby has one too), a shooting star on my left arm, and purple/black nautical star on my hand near my thumb.

thekster, the shooting star is a really sweet touch  Smiley (and i love your shoe!)

tattoo gurus: how much 'better' is the ankle as opposed to the side of the heel, fade wise? i'm not inked yet, but know exactly what i want, and just need to decide on placement.

Batgirl (hey are you posting in the wedding board too? your name seems familiar) - haha you made me laugh, about being scared of your grandma. Come to think of it, I'll probably hide mine from my gramma too, even though she sees all my facial piercings all the time. Silly grammas. I live with my mom and she still hasn't seen it. I'm waiting to say anything about it to see how long it'll be before she notices; that way I can be like "Look, man, it's been 3 years since I got it. That means it's not noticeable, so shut your pie hole" hah

Alice- Thanks Smiley yeah, I was prepared for the tat fading but figured I could get it touched up, no worries. Where I went says they'll do touch ups for free for life. Did the one near your thumb hurt? I wanted to get a J made up of stars starting in the little webby area between my thumb and index finger and curving up onto my thumb, but I may be rethinking that one.

Mintbamboo- Thanks, to you too! I told my fiance I wanted to get 6 stars the colors of each family member's birthstone, but I wanted to do something special and quickly he replied "Why do you just do a shooting star?" such an easy answer, I didn't even think of it hah. Thanks about the shoe too; that's what I'm going to wear for my wedding and I wanted to see how it looked with the tat. I'm a silly girl Wink

Welshdragon - no one said you have to be muscle bound to have tats... I'm certainly not haha. I saw a girl on a tattoo magazine at the shop with leopard print tat, but hers had a bit of color too. I just couldn't imagine getting a tat that big - ouch! And I love the dice
