here are a couple of mine...pardon the weird quality. its hard to get good pics of myself at that angle.

this is about two and a half years old, on my right shoulder blade.

this is on my left hip, its an extension of an older tattoo, which you cant really see in the pics because its on the back of my left hip.

i guess you can see a bit of the old tat in that last pic. its a rose, drawn by a friend. ive actually been seriously considering getting the big one on my hip and the old rose removed. it isnt finished, it's supposed to continue up to wear my bra sits, with another large rose and more leafy, floral-y things. i keep waffling back and forth between absolutely hating it and wanting to finish it. i think it the long run ill end up getting the newer ink totally removed and having the old rose lightened up enough to cover it up with something that only sits on the back of my hip.

also, "dum spiro, spero" is Latin for "while i breathe, i hope"

I like it Jrsloane1!
I too studied Latin (and ancient Greek...five years of my life spent on those dead languages!) when I was in high school and completely hated that language because of my first teacher...but I liked the literature Wink

dang, everyone's work so makes me want more ink...must...wait.. .until...spring...

ok, so before i had my kid, for years i wanted to learn to tattoo..well before i had any myself.  i figured, hell, i loved to draw, and i liked inflicting pain on others, what better way to combine my interests?  so long story short, i own a full rig that's never been opened, because when i was pregnant i developed carpal tunnel syndrome, although it had apparently been in the works for a while, and its never gone away.  i hardly draw anymore, and my husband doesn't want me trying to use the gun because he believes the vibrations will exacerbate things. (it was so bad last year i had to wear that stupid brace 24/7, and i don't want that again.)
well my sister has given up on me tattooing her myself, but she has 2 that i drew.  this fish started as a watercolor painting i sent to her on a card, and she surprised me with getting the painting tattooed!  (i was so flattered!)  my daughter loves this fish, and when she visits my kid tries to 'grab' the fish constantly off aunt Juju's shoulder!

the fish is gorgeous, youre a great artist! im a knitter, and i have a huge fear of developing carpal tunnel, what with the random wrist and elbow pain i get.

heh thanks!  she has a stylized lotus that i drew (in like 10 minutes) then went and paid for and watched her get for her birthday one year (2002?  i think so.)  but yeah, damned cts.  its the suck.  no joke though this thread makes my resolve to wait until spring before we get anything done mighty shaky.
