This is my second tattoo. They're Iris flowers dedicated to my mother who passed away in April 2003.

Sorry about the HUMAAANGOUS pictures.

This was taken after the second session (of three total). Colors are a bit off, the flowers are actually a darker purple, but it was still healing.

This was taken after the third and final session, colors are slightly closer, but just shows the details of the tattoo a bit more. It was only a few hours old, so my skin was still a bit welt-y in some places.

All in all this took 3 sessions and 8 hours total.
Tattooing done by Sean Karn at Fuzion Ink in Norfolk, VA.

I loveeeee it!

nerdysocks, that's a beautiful piece!!  Cheesy
I love the lack of solid black outline...some artists are just willing to outline EVERYTHING in black, when it's totally not necessary...

Thank you guys!!  Grin

Edit: And Jezebel, I totally know what you mean about the black outlining, some tattoos just don't need it..and when they don't need it, but they get black outlined anyway, the outline overpowers the rest of the tattoo. I'm really happy that he decided against it, I told him I wanted them to look realistic so the black outline was definitely out. Although, he did have to gray scale everything, which wasn't so bad, but after that he had to use really deep, solid, color lines and, wow, that hurt-- but so worth it!

I feel a bit pathetic posting after Nerdysocks post with these... they're very simple designs drawn by a good friend of mine who I adore. I'm hugely into the performing arts and love to act... it's my passion. I got these tattoos this time last year...

They are perfectly aligned (my tattooist measured with a ruler) but I suck about keeping my shoulders even. I've since had the red on the devil touched up. The colours are much much brighter than they appear here, especially the blue.

To show how perfect they are to me, here's the original design. My tattooist did a fab job as far as I'm concerned, even with me bitching the poor man out because I was in pain.

I do have plans for more tattoos in the future. I'm desperately trying to find an elephant design I like (Elephants are my favourite animals!) and I'm currently wanting to get the words "Dream" and "Live" somewhere on my body. I'm thinking about getting them both on the tops of my thighs at the back but I dunno. I considered my ankles for them too. Thoughts anyone? I'd ideally like to be able to see them but also want them somewhere I can cover them easily (I have disapproving family and it's easier to just hide the tats). I also thought about getting them put underneath my current tats but I dunno which way round i'd put them... possibley dream under the angel and live under the devil? I dunno >_> Thoughts plz?! Smiley

I also am contemplating getting another mask on the small of my back to go with the ones on my shoulders.

Phew, long post.
