Today at 3pm I get my first tattoo (ohmygodohmygodohmyg od) and I think that it would be really cool if other people who have tattoos could post some pics of them because:
A) Im curious
B) I want to be inspired for future tattoos (assuming I dont have a horror story to tell come 4pm)
C) I know with all of the creative minds out there, there has to be more than butterflies and roses (nothing against butterflies and roses though, some can be stunning)

Retroeva: I just ran across this post and I'm itchin' to know how it turned out? I have a whopper on my right arm and love it. I am trying to live vicariously through your experience since tattooing is such an expensive habit. (thank god)

I know this looks depressing but it is actually funny.... My best friend and I are just sure David Lynch ( director of Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet etc.) is actually directing our lifes... LOL... so when we see weird omens we call each other and say OMG I've been lynched! The cherry blossoms represent each of us. It is also my avatar.



This is a memorial to my Grandfather. It is a combination of tattoos he had. I updated a heart he had to a sacred heart, incorporated the banner, that used to have a girls name on it but he forgot what it was and it had faded. LOL and put a saying I thought he would like in Latin ( Est Dues in Nobis = There is a God in each of us.) and 4 nautical stars he got while he was in the Merchant marines.

I have two more tats but I don't have pics of them. Joan of Arc in flames and my birth year on my pinky. I have an appointment to get one this week of a raven and another appointment after that to get a cherry and the word reclaimed. Another inside joke with some friends... Our tattoo guy is laughing that he is giving all the girls back their cherries.

I am lucky, he is a good friend and the ones I have had to pay for have been half price. The raven is to be a gift from him.

I love tattos, as soon as I turned 18 I went and got inked.  I have a design in mind for my next one but it involves a lot of fine line detail and I haven't found a studio in my area that impressed me with their work in that department.  It is going to be a tribute to my two sons, I got a thumbprint of each of them and from that I melded the two prints into a heart.  On each of their respected sides  will be their names and birthdates.  I had to get rid of a lot of the lines from the print because if you haven't noticed fingerprints have hundreds of lines and whorls! So if any of you know a really good artist in the DC/MD/VA that specializes in fine line work let me know.

Here's mine...It's of sub-atomic particles being shot through a bubble chamber. I'm proud of it, though I wish I had gotten it somewhere more visible. It hurt so much! I know it would hurt, but not that it would be the most painful thing ever. I still want another one though.

i don't have a tattoo yet, since i'm only 16.  but as soon as i'm 18 i'm goin' out and gettin' one.  my dad already said he'd take me.  heehee.

i already know what i want.  i'm gonna get this: (just the dragon, not the oval part) a lil above my ankel.  i can't wait.

Egads! I am thrilled that people are responding so well! I am having a hell of a time getting this stupid picture to load. Im using my bosses camera here at work. I sure am glad no one came in while I had my pants rolled down and my shirt hiked up. Blech. Any way, the picture!:

I adore it. Im kinda bending over, but I swear, the tree is symetrical. It didnt hurt and Im afraid Im addicted to tattoos now. I have sensitive skin though and the ointment thing was rough in my back. Live and learn I suppose.
