Wow, that's beautiful.  I will have to show that to the DH, he is always looking for a tattoo artist that does good work in this area.

One of my roller derby teammates has been apprenticing at a local shop, and we'd been talking about this for months. My original idea was not nearly as cool as what she designed for me. I took an afternoon off work and a few days off derby (without hitting people with my shoulder) to let it heal. Eh, who am I kidding. I still went to scrimmage, but I worked on hip checks!

Plan ahead.  Right now she is booked for new appointments through August!  Smiley  Job security, I guess!

I am too excited to post here today.  It was the Annual Salt Lake International Tattoo convention this weekend and lucky me and BF got to hook up some new ink.  My BF actually won best in show on the last day of the convention.  Dennis Pase of Louisville, KY did my traditional owl.  It's the beginning of my half sleeve. I am planning on a stack of books, an antique key, and a tea cup and pot for the rest.

My BF's was done by Dave Sanchez of Gardena, CA.  www.davesancheztattoo.com  I have to post it because it's incredible.
The pictures don't even come close to doing it justice.  There is a road trip in the works to have him complete more work for both of us.  Sorry for the novel, I am still super excited about both of them.

cornie- I love the second photo!  It's gorgeous and unique!  It actually reminds me of this jewelry box my mom has with russian folk art on it.  Where did you get the inspiration for the tat?
