I'm 22, and I just started work as a dental assistant. I don't mind scrubs, but I really hate the whole scooby-doo, magic flower-power crap spread all over the clothes. I need ideas on how to spice up some plain scrubbies.
I can't have sequins or anything frilly frilly, but I do want somthing young and fun.

Hmmm...well, you could probably stencil on anything you want (that's work appropriate of course). Or maybe you could make your own scrubs out of fabric you like...I know I've seen patterns. Make sure you show us what you decided to do! Good luck!

Simplicity has some cute scrub patterns.  Sometimes you'll find great theme fabrics at Wal Mart.  I know that in the past I've seen fabrics that were made for scrubs that were dental and optical themed.

Be sure and check Hancocks and Joanne's also for cute theme fabrics.  If you can find the fabrics that are made specifically for scrubs (and they will be marked), they wash sooo much better and hold up better too.  You'll find they have high poly content.

In sewing class at school, one girl made a set of scrubs, and they're SUPER easy.  I'd suggest making them, personally.

see, i just can't sew - if making them is a possibility, you should totally do that - but i'd probably buy them, personally.

Get lots of different colors, and walk around with this super cute compact (you know, to check your teeth)

Congratulations also!

Congratulations on the new job, Heather!  Might I suggest something with... um... a country wreath theme?  Wink  I have no doubt that you'll have the stylin'ist scrubs in the West.  I still love that shirt you sent me back when!  Make sure to show us all what you do with them!
