these are two neckwarmers I finished recently..  I made up the pattern for the green one, the white one is an adapted version of the cowl found in Last Minute Knitted Gifts, which is basically just a tube.

two strands of handpaintedyarn.com's laceweight (lettuce) on size 9us
the buttons are ones I stole from my mom.  I like them, but I think they're too heavy for the yarn.  or maybe it has too much drape.. it doesn't stay up very well

I'm tired.

made with undyed handspun wool/mohair from kristiehaynes.etsy.com
I LOVE this yarn.  I wanted to eat it..

I love the cream colored one. What did you change from the pattern in LMKG? It looks larger than the one in the book.

The one in the book uses size 5 needles, I used size 10.5.  I calculated how many stitches I'd have to cast on to equal the finished circumference of the original.  In terms of length, I just went until I didn't have much yarn left.

Both are pretty but I love the green one! I'd think laceweight knit on size 9's would be really loose and holey. Did you double the yarn? I like the way it is a little drapey. Love your haircut, too. Smiley

thanks Cheesy

I did double strand the laceweight.  I think I'd like to try making it on 8's instead of 9's.  I should write up the pattern sometime.  I meant to do that whenever I posted this.

[blink]
Neckwarmers. Best idea ever.
Did you use knit short rows when making the green one?
