I'm starting Mariah way later than everyone. The hood seems to be the most commented on part.

I have a question: Why does the cable break in the middle? There seems to be several rows of purling. Is it possible to make the cables continous? That's what I'd like to do.

The reason there are purls is because it makes a ^^^ pattern and closes the inner cables, however the cable continues on the outer edge in st st so the whole cable doesn't break off.

Does that make sense? XD

You probably could figure out how to make it continuous, but you'd have to make sure you didn't increase or decrease in the cable so that you'd have hte same number of stitches, and to make sure it crosses over at the right point.

Yes that does help. I'll have to practice the cable by itself before starting the sweater. Thanks so much! Grin

Please be aware there is an erreta for this. I haven't found it myself yet, but I have heard it mentioned. Check on Ravelry if you are on it. This was the only thing keeping me from moving on, I had only gotten so far when I learned that there was a change due to error..... so I stopped and frogged, I haven't decided if I want to start again yet......  Tongue I do love this pattern though Grin . Happy knitting Smiley

@silver llix:
Thanks, but i am not at ravelry...
And yes indeed a lot of mistakes, i modified it and really hope it will fit.

At the moment the corpus and the sleeves are finished...start the hood in some rows.
I'm not really satisfied with my knit...because i made a stupid mistake at the sleeves: the nice side of the wristband is inside.   Shocked  Grin

I also made a dumb mistake on the sleeves, I didn't  cable in the new areas that were made as the sleeves were increased! OOps...
O well! LOL
That was part of the reason I frogged it. I still love the pattern, but I don' tknow what to do about it.... I will probably take some time later to read it through and figure it out.

A yes the cable on the sleeves - i knit just one cable and not like in the pattern two on both sides.
The sleeves are indeed a bit...a nice mixture of two patterns, looks kinda strange.  Grin

So just the hood is missing...dont know if i should knit it like the pattern said or just the way i always knit hoods.

And hmm...don`t know, but the collar is a bit wide, have to think about, maybe i should rip it up?
But i hope it will fit better with the hood...

My modifications:
- just one cable on both sides of the sleeves
- two cables on the backside
- one cable on each side of the hood
- had to shorten the pattern for the sleeves

If you need help - i could try to help. Smiley
