I'm too late for that, I just finished mine not too long ago! There's a bad zipperless pic on my blog (shepurls.blogspot.com). I should really get around to taking a new better one.

Good luck with yours!

I started this ages ago, but only got as far as starting the second sleeve and had to leave it all back in the US. I couldn't finish it by the time I left for Australia. Sad

I am excited to see yours, though! I hope it motivates me to have my mom send down some of my stash. Cheesy

I made this last year.  Couple things to note:

-There's a yahoo group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mariahalong which you will want to join for errata corrections and the like.

-I really did not like the 13 BO stitches on either side at the start of the hood/end of yoke and I ended up not doing those.  I found it made the sweater hang really oddly when it wasn't zipped up.

-Patons merino pills an insane amount.

-Make sure you're clear on where to do the increases along with the cables.  The pattern as it is written does not put the information about sleeve increases in a convenient spot IMO.

-I also found that the hood rolls in cause of the stockinette stitch so I did 1x1 rib on both sides.  I also did a 3 needle BO instead of the usual BO and seaming just to save a step.

I think that's it--It's a very comfy sweater and I enjoy wearing it very much.

I also did this last year, and it's a jacket I wore pretty often in the winter, although I made the hood too big and might redo that.

I agree with PlayItGeorge about skipping the bind-off stitches before starting hood. For the hood edging, I did a basic cable.

The wool I used was Knitpicks Wool of the Andes -- pretty warm, a bit itchy, but it's fine with a long-sleeved shirt. Some pilling but nothing too noticeable.

I'm knitting this sweater right now (just started - I'm on the first sleeve) so I'm game for the knitalong.  I'm using Knit Picks Andean Silk.  I'm knitting it for a friend's birthday - so I hope it turns out well!

Thanks alot! I have a lot of the Paton's merino in my stash, and not a lot of money. . . so I have to go with that XD I'll probably make one later on.
Smiley I love knitting things after they've come out for a while. . . so I can learn from other people. So thank you! If anyone else has anything to add, please do.

I didn't really notice this part until after I did it. It's not shown clearly in the patter picture at all.  I love the sweater but HATE this part. I don't really know what the point of that 2-3" is. I am considering frogging the hood and re-doing now.

I frogged it and redid it myself.  I much prefer it this way, also with the 1x1 ribbing on the sides as the hood doesn't curl in at all now.
