Hey Girls,
I found this bag by accident while looking for some more cable patterns. I have to make this! I already casted on! :-) I changed the pattern a little bit to suit my needs, but who's in this with me?!?

Oooh... LOVE it!  Not sure I'm in right now, but eventually I'll do this!  Thanks for the link to the pattern!

I love this bag.  I'm going to do a couple of swatches tonight to see if I can use some yarn in my stash.  I've promised myself that I won't buy any new yarn for a while because I have nowhere left to put it.

I dont know if i have time to do this at this point (Honestly, i only have time nowadays to knit a few inches a day on a scarf or something...5 AP classes do that to ya)...but if i were to join you, I think I would do this bag instead

Its really similar, but that one is more suited to my needs.

Good luck all yall. I want to see your great FOs when you finish.

Yeah, I saw that bag too. You can still to that for this knit-along if you want; they are siblings. I hear ya with the busyness. I have 17 credit hours this semester...

Here's my bag thus far. I used thick yarn and expanded the cable mode, so everything is enlarged (however more than planned, with the cable size), but it is really growing on me.
It is navy blue--

Oh, btw, I started with the bottom first, since I have some innovative ideas for the top that I might go through with (and I don't have the type of yarn yet). I also might just use leather handles.

If anyone is working on this bag yet, could you post pics? I would love to see it done "correctly." I'm thinking about making another one for a present later on.

I think that even wool-ease would look great for this bag, if you are doing a low budget thing like me. I'm using Bernat softee chunkee yarn.

wow knittyknitter i love the color you choose. what type of is that? is it acrylic? i really love the two of them but it seems like this one will be the best choice for the school. how stylish!

i have some black acrylic my grandma gave me and i know that it gets fuzzy so badly but i am itching to knit this bag... or i can frog my hot pink messenger i knitted a while ago which i never used and knit this bag instead....  Roll Eyes Tongue

100% and deliciously acrylic.

It really is soft! :-)

Btw- it looks a lot darker in the picture than it actually is. The picture makes it look black.

I like the sister bag too, but I think i'll just knit it for my mom. I like the smaller one for myself.
