Do I need a capelet? Not really. Is it my style? Not really. Did I have a lot of fun knitting it? Heck yeah! Technically, this is  called the R.E. Linwelin mantelet, designed by a Ravelry pattern maker named Jane Victoria. The pattern was relatively easy to follow, though I did omit a couple of things. It's meant to have laces up the underside of the sleeves, which I didn't install. I figure no one will see them, and it looked like it would be a pain because ribbons either get hopelessly knotted or come undone constantly.

I carry a bag that says FREE KNITTING LESSONS on my daily transit commute, & give a little hands-on tutorial to anyone who asks. They get a starter kit with needles, enough cotton yarn to make a plain dishcloth and a set of instructions. Swaps/donations for materials welcome!
