Here's the mandatory before picture:

Those are their sisters anyway, these particular shoes were a horrid creamy off-white color.  But what a steal, at $3.24 a pair!  That's like 20 pairs of shoes for the price of one!  Wow.  And not even too bad looking.

And here's the revamped pair, together.

This is the tropical bird on the outside of the left shoe.  He's what started it all.  I began by sharpying and penning him on one shoe. Then I broke out the acrylics and went pink-paint-happy.

The back of that shoe.

This is the bird on the right shoe.  I spent a lot less time on the right shoe, because I just wanted to get done at that point.

And the top/other side of the right shoe.

And the mandatory action shots.

Keep in mind that these pictures were taken after I'd worn the shoes, so there may be scuffs here or there.

These are the first shoes I've made, lemme know what you think!  Cheesy

I'm up for personal swaps, as well as commissions, and everything I make is for sale.  Ask me about stuff: maincoon@comcast.net

I need BONES.  I will pay $$ for defleshed bones, skulls.  I will pay for shipping of other things (such as roadkill).  I will pay big bucks for cool dead stuff.  Smiley

Nice job, girly! I'm all about painted shoes lately. How well does the acrylic hold up on the rubber?

Thanks for all the compliments! Smiley

Sporkchick - Surprisingly the paint on the rubber is staying very well.  When I first put the paint on that part of the shoe, I wasn't expecting it to stick, but I figured I'd try.  I put several layers on the toe part and then just one layer around the edge.  The edge is wearing on spots of most use, like the front of the toe, you can see in one picture, but I think that it would work very well if it was painted with several layers.
