Well, MIL, I just sent her a BUNCH of stuff, so you'll have to tell me if she REALLY likes it all!  I think it should arrive today or tomorrow.

All right.  My final cards, and they're awesome!  First, from kaesea.  She used imagery from one of Bessie's songs.  (Since she was making my holder, expressed interest in Bessie, and was looking for inspiration, I sent her a duplicate CD that I had sitting around.)  Great card:


And from taloola, Ma Rainey!  I love her.  The card looks all strangely shaped and the pearl looks askew because Ma didn't want to pose perfectly still on the scanner.  I love the idea of poking actual jewelry through the card.  So fantastic:

Oh, yay! My last two cards have found their homes.

For anyone wondering about the images on the "You've got to give me some" card I made for Bigmouth, they are pulled from that song: peckerwood, cream, sugar  lumps, steak, lollypops. All euphemisms for, well, um... you can read the lyrics here and put it all together for yourselves!

As for the goat card, boy was I stumped on that theme for the longest time. Anyone else ever have the problem that, given so much freedom to create something, it becomes more of a hindrance than a freedom? I don't know if that makes sense, but, basically, my mind has run wild for weeks thinking of what to make for goatgoddess. Finally, I latched on the idea of a "goat," [duh] and went from there. Once I finished the wings and crown, I thought he looked kind of joyful (plus, her goats clearly bring goatgoddess joy) so I went with that. Joyful goat!
