As for the pocket thing...it wasn't intentional...I'm not exactly sure how it happened, it just did...so I ran with it.

You gotta love a happy accident!

I'm SO in for this one next time!!!  I LOVE your ideas and originality. The cork and the pockets...I've been coveting the Japan thing for awhile now.

I got my card from Bigmouth today! It's double-sided, which is very cool.

Here's the front:

And here's the back:

[Some of the letters on the back got lost because the paint stuck to the card. I kind of like the cryptic-ness of it, though. Smiley ]

She cut those hearts free-hand! I can't ever cut hearts without a template! I keep cutting one side, then the other (to even things up), then back to the first side... until there's no heart left. Sad

She also send me a Bessie Smith CD! I can't wait to listen to it and get inspired on that book I'm making for her.

What did you use to make the card, Bigmouth? I love the feel of it!

Oops!  I didn't think about that.  Good thing it wasn't really key to the card.  It just said, "Alex. VA '06."  Or did it?  I agree that "Al   A    6" does have a certain mystique...)  Cheesy

Acrylic paint and inkjet iron-on transfers on polyester felt.  I had a bonehead moment with this card, too.  I've never put iron-on transfers on both sides of anything before, and I got a little absentminded when I did the second side.  I ironed the whole shebang on to my towel.  I actually laughed out loud at myself, and then (very willfully) pulled the whole thing back off.  I can't believe it survived.

Am I allowed to laugh that you called yourself boneheaded over the skull card?

Finally...here is the card I received from Big Mouth.

The Front - this is called Envy...I take it to mean the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence....am I right?

The back is Charity...or an ironic take on it anyway...its has a couple of stories about charity gone wrong...like tsunami victims receiving donations of winter coats and Walmart donating books to libraries and they end up sending bunch of the same book...

Good mail day!!

I got two awesome cards. I love what you are all doing with my theme!
The card on the left is from amaryllisroze, and the card on the right is from taloooola:

Oh, aren't they so awesome!

Here's a little back bonus poem on amaryllisroze's:

I have received 4 cards so far, and it almost looks like everyone got together and chose colors! They all look so good together, even though they are all different. I love that! Thanks, ladies! This is so fun.  Grin

Those are actually part of the lyrics from Groucho Marx's "Lydia the Tattooed Lady"...if you saw the movie "The Fisher King" you might remember it being sung in there as well.

I'm glad you like it!
