Hi folks,

Well it's happened. A big, gross manufacturing company has ripped off my designs and they are turning up on clothing 'Made In India' in national chains. In short:

A friend in Seattle spotted the clothing in a national chain.
I contacted the buyer and got the name of the manufacturer.
This manufacturer ordered several patterns from me back in February.
I'm doing more research, trying to find as many examples as I can, while I talk with my lawyer.

I need your help! They have underestimated the ability, resourcefullness and support of this community. I know, because my company has flourished because of it. If you can help me fight this manufacturer, it will help artists everywhere by making them think twice before they do this again.

If you want to see the item of clothing, and find out how you can help,

I will be posting this everywhere on God's green earth.

xoxox,
Jenny

That is so awful!!  Angry  Evil greedy big businesses!  Copyright infringement makes me so mad. People think they can walk all over artists.  Best of luck to you, bring them down!!

I am disgusted!!!!!   I can't believe that this company would blantantly steal your designs.  I am thrilled to hear that you have obtained legal counsel since this kind of unethical behavior simply can't be tolerated!  GOT GET EM'!!!!

PLEASE READ THIS!
How can I help?

Thanks everybody! Yes, it stinks. All you can do is be familiar with my designs and contact me (NOT the store) if you come across something. But by helping me, it's really important to realize that this helps all artists, because theft like this hurts all independent artists. They have to see us fight back so they won't keep doing it!

xoxo,
Jenny

Well, on the bright side, you should be able to make a killing out of this (there's me, can't stop thinking like a lawyer even when I'm on holiday!).  Cross your fingers that the shirts sell well, because you'll be able to get what's called an "account of profits", which means all the profits they make from selling them.  You should also seek delivery up of everything they do not sell.  No doubt your lawyer will have told you all of this though!  I do hope you have a good lawyer, and that everything goes well!
