I just got a nice-sized gift certificate to a LYS and I hear they are rather snooty to new knitters like me, so I want to go in armed with a list! Anyway, I'm going to be making a felty bag and want to know of a really cool, interesting-looking wool or wool/ mohair blend that is worsted weight and perhaps self-striping, but not quite so pricey as Kureyon. Any thoughts?
Also, what's a pretty, soft, and again interesting sport weight? Fiber type is less important there-- it's for the stitch & bitch kitschy kerchief.
Thanks!
