Can't get your avatar to change? Look here!

I to am having trouble uploading my avatar.  I did everything that said to do for Internet explorer.  I tried a different option so can anyone tell me if my avatar has changed please.  Thanks

It's an ADORABLE white kitten currently.  Is that the new one or the old one?

I changed mine the other day and it seemed to take approx. 24 hours to update in the system.

It looks like yours is a .jpeg.  Could you try a .jpg or .gif, please?

I've been trying and trying to change my avatar picture to no avail. I don't know maybe it's me? Is there a size limit on avs? Because it doesn't say there is in the edit profile section. I choose 'I will upload my own picture:' and then I hit 'browse' I choose a jpg image that is 152 KB. I click open and it puts the file in the little box. Then I click change profile.

I've also tried this with a .gif file and no change. It's still the same old avatar I've had.

So I tried uploading my image onto flickr and adding the link to the box that says 'I have my own pic:' and it changes, but instead of being the image that I want it's just blank, as though I have no avatar at all.

Help me please! Perhaps I'm an idiot, but I would be grateful to just change the image! Thanks.

Hey there!  Sometimes it can take 24 hours or so for the stored version in the system to refresh.

mine still hasn't changed and it's been 5 months. I kinda gave up on it for awhile.

I feel extremely dumb, but mine isn't changing either--it was a picture of me until about three weeks ago, when I made the (apparently ill-fated) decision to change it.  I've tried clearing my cache in Firefox, and also going in through IE and uploading it there.  Any more tips?

Aw, don't feel dumb!

It's actually because your file is a ".jpeg" file rather than a ".jpg" file.  The system is picky, picky about only accepting .jpg and .gif -- sorry about that.  I actually have a request entered to get that screen updated to include a note mentioning this.

Meanwhile, could you try a .jpg or .gif?  If you do not know how to resave your file as one of these, I'd be happy to do it for you.  Just email it to me at jean@craftster.org, I'll change the filetype and upload it for you while I'm at it, too.
