Ok, so you've all seen them. And I am now smitten with them.

It's Nautie from Knitty, knit in some aran weight cotton and some aran weight generic pale green stuff. He is adorable, but destined for a new home iwth an appreciative child.

I live in a basement flat so I end up taking most of my pictures outdoors. I tried to position Nautie pretending to eat my goldfish but it was just too dark.... grrr...

Just go for it!

It's actually a very easy knit - if you look at the pattern, you'll see that there's very few steps to it. For ease, you might not want to make the striped version for your first attempt.

I wouldn't recommend using cotton as it didn't hold the stuffing in as well as I wanted it to, but make sure you have a tight-knit fabric (you might want to make a swatch).

And I am sure your boyfriend will think it's lovely even if it goes a little bit wrong Smiley
