The colors are great and you did a fantastic job. I bet your mom receives a lot of compliments when she carries it.

Can anyone state a source for buying the rivets? I'm looking into making a b ag right now and I'm having trouble locating some.

Any help would be appreciated!

I couldn't find any at my local shops so I just skipped the rivets.  It doesn't seem to have made a big difference. Good luck!  What colors are you going to use??

I'm not making *this* bag, but designing something else. I was curious as to whether anyone else had problems finding the rivets. I'm going to take another stab at it, since the bag I'm designing could benefit from the look of the rivets. It's a gold-colored bag, so gold rivets is what I'm on the hunt for.

Thanks for responding!

I finished hooking my Granny bag last night!  I have a picture of it on my blog:

I also could NOT find rivets anywhere, so I used flat buttons, the kind with shanks on the back.  I lined mine with some brown check fabric I had, so the buttons helped to anchor it in place.

Do y'all think it looks okay?  I used a totally different color scheme.  I'm always kinda skeptical of the things I make until they've laid around for a while.

Anyway...Here's to happy hookin'!!  LOL

I just finished my granny's no square, and I didn't like the strap or the bag getting so stretched when I put stuff in it, so I lined it with denim. It was my first crochet project, and I wasn't sure about yarn; I just used a bunch of different colors of wool and skipped the whole suede thing.

amie, I found my rivets at www.mjtrim.com (look for nailheads), same for the rings. It's a good site for random craft items.
