this is my first project post sooo hi!
i first picked up a cross stitch kit two years ago for something to do on a plane ride; it was a little blue snail that just reminded me of old nintendo games & pixels so i absolutely had to learn cross stitch. after that i did "bite me" and "do not f--k with me" from subversive cross stitch and haven't done anything since.
well, last month i had my wisdom teeth extracted and finished this one:

and i'm working on making a frame with fimo skulls for it...

this week i made these little guys -

the alphabet is from the subversive cross stitch book Cheesy and i found a page full of tiny black&white cell phone logos; the monster-guys were from one of those files, but modified in color with different expressions & a little grill.

sorry they're both still wrinkly but i got excited that they were finally done, lol.
i can't put this stuff down lately, really...not a bad thing because it's fun!

This is an idea that I have played around with myself. You have done a great job. Any idea what you are going to do with the finished project?

thanks!!

I'm working on a frame for the die in a fire one; I have a frame that fits the other one, but I may turn it into a book/journal cover later but really I don't know, haha. I tend to make things first, with absolutely no direction, then they either just sit around or I think of some neat way to use it later Wink

I may be forced to steal these... I love them!

I'm just learning, and most of what I have are nintendo sprites and a few really complicated patterns I found online Sad

I hate cute stuff....I just haven't been inspired by Subversive for some reason Sad

thanks! Smiley I got the black aida at Joann fabric...I've seen it at walmart before too. I love the way it looks but it's really hard to work with unless you have a ton of light.

that is the best thing i've heard in weeks Cheesy glad you like them!!

I kind of feel the same way about subversive...i'd love to do one and give it to my grandma, or something, just for a giggle, but once i finish one i don't really have any use for it. the bunnies etc make me want to punch babies. I've been doing entirely too much google image searching for tiny weird icons that i can turn into patterns.
well anyway, here's the pattern for the zomg one...i need to clean up the die in a fire pattern but i'll post it when it's less sloppy tho.

These are too cute (in a non-cutesy way). And you used a non-white/ivory Aida cloth!

I share the sentiment of subversive xstitches. Nice to look at and definitly brings a different air to the craft, but I'd never in a million years have something like that hanging on my walls...but I also enjoy that they use traditional flourishes (something that I'm working on including in my designs).

Way way way too funny -- my boyfriend LOL'd.  Our guildleader (we're geeks, we play World of Warcraft) is always saying Die in a fire! -- if you post the pattern for that one I'll so make it for him for Christmas.

dhaunae, I initially made this for my boyfriend to hang on the wall in his office (he's a gamer too and is always telling people to die in a fire, haha) but I think he chickened out Tongue ohh well
