Okay, I'm so proud of myself. I was in the ocean friends swap and my partner wanted a wristie purse. Her favorite creature of the sea is the Hermit crab.

I made it with pin-on shells, so they can be changed as desired. (One of the cool things about Hermit Crabs is that they change shells as they outgrow them, so I had to give Hermie new shells to grow into. . .)

I didn't take pictures of the wristie without shells, but there is a whole, naked, hermit crab there. I bought a design of the hermit crab in a shell, then removed the shell and digitized the rest of the body.

On the reverse side is an embroidered picture of a seahorse, starfish.

... wow!! Cheesy That is such a great way to do it!

And very well done with it. Does each shell only have one pin? (I have a problem with pins coming off stuff, but that might just be me)

can we see the sea horses. (i love sea horses  Grin) is is machine embroidery?

poo head , yes it is machine embroidery. Finally got an embroidery machine, and am constantly finding new ways to use it. Always loved machine embroidery.

Here is an image of the embroidery, I didn't photograph the other side of the wristie.

You would have loved the t-shirt I made -- tatted seahorses and tatted jellyfish:

itesser yes there is only one pin on each shell. But I included blank pins for my partner to make her own shells, so there are spare pins. I thought I glued them rather securely. But if someone wanted, I could sew them onto fabric backing. That would make it more secure.

Thank you everyone for commenting. I don't get much feedback where I am. So your replies make me happy. Grin

That is super cute and what a wonderful idea. I had hermit crabs as pets when I was younger and this bag is wonderful. I will have to put this on my wist list when I am back on my computer!
