Hi Everyone!

I should have posted this a lot eariler, but I've been busy!

Anyway, my pal Erin and I (Miss Chief Productions) went to the Bizarre Market and it was indeed great.  It was our first time in Richmond and I'd say it was worth the trip.  There seemed to be a constant flux of people and we sold a fair amount of stuff, (and then promptly spent all our earnings on all the other awesome stuff there was to choose from!).  We traded with some people too which was great.  I really like the idea of bartering.  There was a really nice variety including screenprinted, handmade and altered/reconstructed clothing, buttons and accessories, zines and artists' books, fine art/paintings, music, felt flowers, hmmmmmmmm I'm probably forgetting stuff.  But my point is that you should all mark your calendars for the end of June and it's worth a trip whether you would be going to buy or sell!!

Everything from handmade soaps and lip balm to art prints, paintings, and handmade sketchbooks from various people using various binding techniques. Lots of clothing of all kinds of styles, jewelry (actual silver jewelry, intricately beaded stuff, and imaginative yet simpler things too). Cool-yardsale-type finds, witty magnets, independently printed zines and books. There's more but I've run out of memory. Oh, I know my dad is coming and he's bringing echinacea plants which will hopefully be in bloom! My partner and I will be there selling clothing (stencilled and reconstructed), accessories (ditto), and sketchbooks. We are Franglais and we do our best to recycle and repurpose and never waste, and never bring in new materials when there's plenty of it already around. See you there, say hi!

Hey, I'm around that area and was wondering if they still have them?
I'm pretty busy this next few weeks but I would love to make it to one if I could. Thanks!

Hi!  I'm fairly new, and i just recently found the Richmond crafty-posty section.  It's August 5, 2004, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me when the next Bizarre Market is.  I heard about it from a friend, and I think it sounds awesome!  Thanks!

Also I think it's really cool to find other crafters in Richmond!  I need to start being more involved in stuff so I can meet people.

I'm new to this forum too, and I just heard about the Bizarre Market.  What kinds of things are being sold there now? Anyone know?  I have lots of different kinds of stuff that I make and I'm wondering what it the most appropriate to take there.

Thanks for the info!
I've heard there is all kinds of crafty stuff at the bizarre market.  I'm sure anything you could make would be cool.  I'm thinking of doing t-shirts, but I've never done them "whole-sale" before.  Also maybe wristwarmers - knitted - but i haven't finished my prototype yet.

The first Bizarre Market I went to was the last one, and it was really fun.  People were selling all kinds of things from bags and pillows to original art, used stuff, a variety of food, much of it vegan.  I'd like to participate in it one of these days once I get to making enough stuff.
