I was planning on using an owl decoy and drilling out eyes and using christmas lights to give my makeshift Hedwig some personality lol...
same could apply to a deer decoy, I mean really it's crafty as long as I alter it , right? lol

Sure it is and maybe you could put some real fur on it, too.  Just to give it a more real look.  Most decoys are just plastic.

If you're going to make a Dobby, you should go to the thrift store and buy some knitted socks. Then you could cut 4" inches off of each toe and turn them into Hermione's S.P.E.W. hats that she leaves all over the place.

are you going to give out HP trinkets as treats? like SPEW buttons or those Bertie's Botts Jelly Bellys... or the crafty wands... or recreate some of the stuff from Honeydukes? or at least put the candy in a bag that says Honeydukes on the front.

aw, jeez, I want a SPEW button.  Roll Eyes

I was going to do honeyduke's bags for my opening parties...but not for halloween as I think most of this is going to be lost on people anyway, and I want to make sure I have a few tricks up my sleeve for the die hard fans that show up to the party .
But yes Dobby socks excellent!
I found a griffindor type sword at the dollar store I might do something with...still trying to figure out how to include all moves/books...so far it is very COS!

This is brilliant!!  I love the idea, and if we lived in an area where people actually trick or treated, I'd so steal it (with permission, of course  lol)!

Polyjuice Hermione would be an awesome costume!!  I think Professor Trelawney would be a fun costume, too.  Ooh, maybe I'll be her for Halloween...

How about putting Aragog upside down for book 6?  lol  Or, ooh, you could make a cursed necklace!!!  What did you have for PoA?  Maybe you could recon an extra hunting decoy to make Buckbeak!!!  I love the house elf heads idea - maybe you could put them on the front door!  lol
