I just got a brayer but didn't think to use it when glueing-good idea!  I always wonder how cards are holding up too, good thing they don't get handled much (beyond the postal indignities they must go thru)

What kind of brayer do you use? I have a kind of soft rubber one, but I'm thinking of getting an acrylic one instead.

I have a soft rubber one, but I wish I didn't.  I use a lot of rubber cement, and it's impossible to clean off the soft rubber brayer.  I'm thinking of getting an acrylic one as well.

I've heard the acrylic ones are better to get good pressure for the glueing process, too. I think I'll pick one up tomorrow, if I can find one.

Thanks for that tip -- that's the push I needed to get an acrylic one.  Probably not until March though.  I'm traveling a lot in the next two weeks (for work, so it's not even fun).

Grin  I use my Pampered Chef wooden mini pastry roller that looks like a brayer, just because I haven't wanted to fork over the 'dough' to get a real one.   Tongue  (sorry...bad pun!)  I usually find 5 billion other things I want at the craft store when I go with my small craft allowance.

But, based on your conversations, I'll get an acrylic brayer when the time comes.

AND...I can't use the wooden one for food anymore, obviously!  Which is fine, because I'm so busy crafting that I rarely take the time to cook much anymore!

Hee-hee,
RM

That's clever!  For a while I used a candle that I just rolled around -- it worked ok.   I like having the brayer better.

It's so cool to look over the archives of your gallery and see how your aesthetic has changed! I love the muted tones of your stuff lately, and your creation of different textures.

Can I just say I'm in love with the Chinese New Year cards.  I think they're wonderful.

Thanks -- that means a lot because they were absurdly difficult for me to make.  For some reason, I just didn't connect with that theme!

Thanks! That's my favorite thing about having a gallery.  I like seeing my cards in one place.  I'm in love with brown lately!
