hi again

I've been beading and sewing like crazy this summer, trying to get everyone's Christmas gifts sorted so that December doesn't give me a breakdown!

These are the Christmas ornaments i've made (well, one is actually for Chinese New Year)

Tatiana:

This one is a 'lantern' ornament for Chinese New Year:

Princess:

and finally, a simpler one:

oops! the cover has slipped a bit in that photo. I like this one, it's not too fussy

They will be dispatched to various friends and relatives come December. Hopefully I'll have everything done by then...

Let me know what you think Smiley

UPDATE: I finished my new ornament!

Pretty! I quite like this colourway, not sure whether it's better than the red and gold one.

boy, those are fantastic! are they beaded in round, or are the beaded in a strip and joined at the end?

those are really pretty! i love the red and the gold of the lantern. that is a great color combination. the white and red is fantastic also.

no wonder you have to start in september, you would be in trouble if you waited!

well done!

Hi

thanks Smiley My favourite is also the lantern - so much so I'm currently making another one ina different colourway Cheesy

They are beaded in the round, around the ornament (you have to be careful not to scratch the colour off - use a 'bad' ornament for the initial beading, then transfer onto your good ornament when it's time to close up.

I bought books from www.accentbeads.com for the two top ones, Tatiana and the Lantern, because I saw some online, but they were a bit boring really - just circles that you draped over, that you could work up in a couple hours. I wanted soemthing REALLY bling, hehehe

I'll post pics when I get the new one finished too!

There are 4 patterns normally, and the books can be found by clicking on 'books' on the left. She has a new one out too, but I don't know what it's like. I don't think I'll buy it though as it's starting to get ridiculous how many projects I haven't started...

These are quite exquisite.  Your beaded work is one of my favorites here.
